Positioning

Clash of Critters Formation Guide

Formation is one of the cheapest upgrades because it costs no currency. Before spending more resources, move your units and check whether the fight gets cleaner.

Clash of Critters Formation Guide

Frontline

Put durable units, tanks, and close-range supports where they can absorb pressure without exposing your carry too early.

  • Tanks
  • Durable supports
  • Short-range control
  • Sustain anchors

Backline

Protect fragile DPS and long-range utility. If your best carry dies early, the formation is usually the first thing to fix.

  • Long-range DPS
  • Fragile burst
  • Key utility
  • Units that need uptime

Mode Swaps

Horde wants coverage and control reach. Boss wants uptime on the target. Dojo wants element counters and clean placement around floor pressure.

  • Horde: control reach
  • Boss: carry uptime
  • Dojo: element counter
  • Gold Rush: balanced safety

Failure Diagnosis

Match the adjustment to the failure. Early deaths mean placement or sustain. Timer losses mean carry uptime. Leaks mean control position.

  • Deaths
  • Timers
  • Leaks
  • Wrong target focus

Can formation beat raw power?

Sometimes. If a stage is close, better positioning can matter more than one small upgrade.

Where should supports go?

Durable supports can sit forward; fragile supports should stay safer unless their skill requires close range.
